More bits and pieces

Got the car back at this time, so the mods started back up.

Put the JDM bar on, makes the car look so much more sleek and aggressive.

Bashed the dent out of the sump, then put a bash plate on to stop it happening again.

Nardi wheel and boss kit.

need more clearance ??? just bash it

The front guards on most cars have a lip that is at 90deg to the body as part of the manufacturing. So to stop that scrubbing simply bash it flat against the guard :D

A Pause on the Mod's

It was now start of '09. Around this time I put in My Whiteline swaybars, Profec B boost controller and whiteline pinapples. the car also went to the mechanic to get the rear guards rolled and have the intercooler pipe fixed.

It was then that my parents' car broke down. With this being the only spare car, it had to go through some "modification" to have them be able to drive it. The car was raised, stock seat back in and boost controller off.

Even though I couldn't do much to the car, that didn't stop me buying things for it.

JDM front bar, in the same colour as my carA full set of Uras NS-01's in 17x9.5+15 all round with semi slicks

This went on for a few weeks till my parents bought a new car and I could go back to modding

S14 Onevia's

Not sure what you would call it, s184, one14, or just s14 with a 180 front. Either way they like may conversions when done right they look great. but done wrong they look horrible.

As far as I know i have seen 2 in Australia. There may be more, but that's all I've seen pics of. When I started looking for a s14 this is something that I wanted to do down the track, especially if I ended up with a zenki.

Here are some of the better looking ones

Something I may still do if I crash mine

insperation

Around this time I saw a couple of pics that I guess crafted how i wanted my car to look. I was sick of nearly every s14 around NSW being either stock, riced up, or with a fake vertex kit and a set of bob jane special wheels

Style.
So one pic came up, just a s14 with the JDM front bar. it made the whole front look alot more aggressive, yet sleek. I didn't like how the ADM bar had all the holes in it, even worse with the high spec lip. the JDM bar made the front end alot less busy.

Low.
It just makes the car look so much better.
this pic doesn't really show it well, but you couldn't fit a 10cent coin standing up under the side skirt of this car. It is a personal import of a Aussie that was living in Japan. Showed me that Aussies can do it too.

Fitment.
I tried to do it on my 13, but it didn't turn out right because of the height. I wanted wheels out the guards and streach

So I basically decided that to begin with I wanted my car to have JDM factory plastic aero all round, scraping rail, and with tough wheel and tyre combo..........

Till I crash it and go widebody with a onevia conversion, but more on that later :D

Attempt at custom work

I needed somewhere to hold my oil pressure, oil temp and water temp gauge. Not wanting to mount them on the dash due to legalities, i tryed my hand at some custom work.

The finished product. A little dodgy but it does the job

Shit got low

Hard parking at its best

Goodies

Even though the car was still on defect, that didn't stop the me from getting parts together

Sub and all the wiring was ripped out though

But this is what you get when you buy the cheapest 14 around. You don't pick these things up till you get the car home.

Dented sump

Worst intercooler piping ever

oh well it was all fixed up and the defect was cleared.

A major set back

So the day after I bought the car i bought a cheap set of HSD coilovers and stocked up with stuff from my work at the time.

The next day I went to install the stuff with a mate. We started with the coilovers, and then chucked some random 17in wheels on to get rid of the chromies.

Then in my stupidity and because my friend was there we went to get something to eat...... in the 14. At the time I was a P plater meaning I couldn't drive the car legally. We grabbed something from 5min down the road, and on the way back my friend commented about a car going the other way, joking it might be an undercover police officer. I then looked in my rear vision mirror, and to my horror see a Highway patroler. I panicked for a bit, but it was inevitable. the flashing lights started flickering, then my fate was sealed.

The result of that lunch break was me losing my licence for 3 months, $730 in fines, $140 for a tow and a red label on the car. This means that the car was a major defect and had to be towed the 2min home.

It turned out to be a very expensive lunch.........

it begins....

After putting my 180 up for sale I started to look for a new car. I was looking for a fairly well set up s13/180 or a stock zenki s14. I sold my 180 and it was still a few months and i hadn't even found something i thought was worth going to look at. Everything was too expensive for what it had, or still needed a bit of work (like lots of power mods but no suspension mods) and were at the top of my budget.

anyway one day i was doing my usual searching through various forums when I see a post advertising a s14 with minor mods for a quite good price but no pics. I organise to go see the car, the next day.

I get there to find a kouki 14, it was fairly rough, had 19in chromies, lowered springs, fmic, turbo back exhaust and a manual boost controller.

It defiantly needed some work, but for the price it was going for for a kouki it was hard to resist, plus it had no sunroof and no abs which is what I wanted.

So I picked it up 2 days later and as of the start of november 08 i was onto my 3 s chasis car :)

Intro

well i thought seeing as i have the build up of my S14 scattered over 4 or so forums, i might as well put it in the one place.

It will set up to be a streeter/drifter. pretty much the aim of it is to do most of it myself, so we'll see how that pans out

thought i might start it off with my previous cars

'92 s13 Silvia club Q's
Non Turbo SR20DE Manual

some mods included
* s15 4 pot brakes
* 2.5" Exhaust w High Flow Cat & Resonator
*tein superstreets
*S15 front seats
*17x9 and 17x10 veilside andrew D rims
*nismo steering wheel and boss kit
*cusco strut brace
*gktech sump bash plate

it was my daily for nearly 18 months and is what got me into silvias and drifting

then because i didnt want to ruin that drifting i got this and had the 2 at the same time

'91 S13 180sxTurbo CA18DET manual
*R32 radiator
*cat back Exhaust with varex
*T28 turbo
*cusco front and rear strut braces
*uras extra lock tie rods + tie rod spacers
*Whiteline springs

was basically a street regoed drift car to learn in (but i couldnt drive it on the road due to licence restrictions)

both of those are now gone regretably, i really liked the silvia

but onto the next project :P
